What will you study?
With a balance of theory and practice necessary in preparation for employment, this degree will cover many of the major questions regarding the role played by media in daily life.  With an emphasis on critical thinking and understanding of complex ideas, students will also engage fully with practical and hands-on learning experiences.  In acquiring skills in audio and video production, in web-based and traditional media, students will be fully prepared for employment in a number of exciting areas.  

Course Description
A new area for Newbold College, the exciting fields of film and media will be fully explored through critical analysis and theoretical underpinnings, mixed with plenty of hands-on training and creative self-expression.  Combining knowledge, critical thinking and specific skills, this degree makes for well-rounded individuals with an intellectual curiosity and the background for an exciting career.
With topics ranging from film production to film analysis, digital to print media, audio, radio and web-based media, you’ll soon be investigating not just words, images and the world around you, but how these things are constantly being interpreted and translated for public consumption.  The implications of all these things for a Christian are essential areas to be explored, as the elements of ethics, morality, creativity and message are combined with the latest knowledge and skills to engage directly with the world around you.

Module Details:
We are currently in the process of acquiring British validation for the Media Arts degree.  The curriculum will include the entirety of the major listed in the Andrews University Media Arts course outline with the exception of the General Education requirements.
